When God Winks !!

I came across a website sharing on the topic “When God Winks”. Sometimes in life, we do not realize that God is watching us from above and He is winking at us. After going through the article, I found out that there are many events in my life that God winked at me. The most recent event was on last Thursday when my car broke down. Fortunately, it happened at my own garage. I can’t imagine how stressful the situation will be if I am stranded in the congested Bundusan Road…God winked at me !!!

At that moment, I was home alone and my hubby was out station. Luckily, I remembered one of our vendors is a mechanic. However, he informed that he was unable to help but he tried to contact his friends and he is willing to come over to my house and have a look.

Guess what ?? By appearance, both looked to be over 50 years old. I was quite concerned whether they can fix the problem. The first thing he asked me to do was open the car boot. And I answered excuse me sir, I don’t know where is the button hehehe..:) I was helpless !! And all I did was watching like a foreman :P

It took them almost 40 minutes to fix my car. The poor mechanic was sweating all over just like he came back from a jog. One good thing about the mechanic was he gives me free advice on the basic car check. I have been driving for almost 15 years but the maintenance part is being taking care by my father/hubby/brother. I was a pampered child :P

Finally, my car is fixed and it was time to pay the charges. How much is it sir?? Then the mechanic answered ..Oooo.. it’s not a big problem, its free of charge…Deep inside I said to myself..What??? Oh God!! …God winked at me for the 2nd time. Now days, can you find any kind hearted mechanic in town ?? I found one !!! Sometimes, I do believe that God does wink!! Praise the Lord !!! ;)

When your heart is touched...

To touch the heart of someone dear
thou it might sometime cause a tear
to fall or rest upon the cheek
should be something all should seek

for often hearts not touched at all
start hardening & shrinking small
& then the time it takes to grow
A loving heart is very slow

for hearts expand as those who care
extend their love & let us share
A moment, space or special phrase
that eases pain on dreary days

or simply starts our lips to smile
& brightens time for just awhile
the ways & kinds & means of sharing
it seems to me are based on caring

& thou we're often worlds apart
you still can touch my very heart
you make me smile or shed a tear
& I'll remember year to year
just how your touch helped me grow
I just thought I would tell you so

Wanna Be :)

I aways remind myself..there are 3 type of person in this world..Which type are you??A person who make things happen; or person who watch things happen; or person who wonder what happened??

Off course, i wanna be a person who make things happen.. Why?? I love to make people happy, i love to create surprises and make things happen. I am a “doer" and “giver"..:) This doesn’t mean that i don’t feel fear..fear of failures. It’s true that sometimes we feel tired of being the doer and feel like sitting back and give way to others..:) When you are tired, just sit back and relax and watch things happen..hehe..:)

This is where the majority of our population resides. It's easier to watch the "doers' get things done than put ourselves out there and risk failing, being scrutinized, having people point out our misfortunes. These people are just one small step from living their greatness. If only they could dare to dream again and move past their fear.

Those who don't know what the heck happened....Yes, believes it or not, the result of living as one who just watches things happen, ends up wondering what the heck happened. At the end of your life (which you can't predict), what will you be thinking about? Regrets, regrets and more regrets. What didn't you dare to do? What opportunities did you pass up because of your fear? What life didn't you live?

It’s your choice!!! You can choose to be the type of person you want to be. It's that simple. I didn't say easy - just simple. It will take work but think about the rewards. Choose to take that first step towards your dream. You'll be amazed at how much easier it becomes - step by step by step by step. You're creating a new habit that will replace the old habit of watching things happen from the sidelines. Before you know it you're living your dream and working on the next one. Now doesn't that sound like a happier way to live?! You are now the person you wanted to be.

Cheers!!!

My Sandakan Trip..:)

I have been to Sandakan many times, but never visited the interesting places. Well, it was a business trip and rarely had the chance to go around. This time around, i grab the opportunity to extend my days in Sandakan. Surprisingly, my hubby was convince with my persuasion and came along with me.
At first, i thought we came at the wrong time..Why?? it was election period..all the politicians flew over to supports their candidate. Off course all the hotels were fully booked including the unstar hotels..luckily my friend managed to book one..:)

My journey only started when the clock turned 5pm..i was no longer an employees...i was a traveler..yeah!!! The moment i reached our hotel, took my bath and went off..our 1st destination was Kg Buli Sim-Sim..we were so excited to try the famous and cheap seafood. we took a Mini Bus to the town, the 30 minutes journey was fun. I guess the last time i traveled by mini bus was during my Uni time. when we reached the town, we took another taxi to Kg Buli Sim Sim..it only cost us RM6 and only took us 10 minutes for the ride.

Kg Buli Sim-Sim was kind of a sea village. It is similar to our Kg Air in KK. The most famous seafood restaurant was at bridge H/Lorong 8 and were dominated by Chinese. You need to pass by many houses before you reach the restaurant. I even saw some of them playing mahjong...woow so enjoyed!!

Ok, let me tell you the best part was eating time. The captain was friendly and recommended us to try their famous sotong kicap and cheese prawn, OK we buy-in all
their recommendation. Well, we were really satisfied with the freshness of the seafood. I love the cheese prawn...so fresh and delicious and the prawn was so big.
It only cost us RM15 for the cheese prawn. We had ordered 5 dishes and the total bill was only 65.00.. really cheap huh?.

Marriage vs Wedding..

I have attended 5 wedding receptions over the past 2 months. Wow!! Everyone is getting married in August and September. I guess it is because of the superstitious months of 8 and 9. In Chinese 8 symbolizes prosperity and 9 signifies forever and ever. For Chinese this is the best month to tie the knot. However, the month of august this year coincides with the month of ghost and certainly, many typical Chinese will try to avoid august.

So, what do you think about marriage? Is it a once in a lifetime event? Not really because some couple break up and remarry again and again. Every girl dreamt to have a perfect & grand wedding, however, the cost of wedding is getting higher. Fifteen years ago, the cost of a normal wedding is around 15k but now it’s 5 times higher. It’s very expensive to get marry now days! Everyone is trying to impress everybody. Every couple is trying to create the most memorable wedding from the church wedding to the dinner banquet. Everyone is trying to be creative. I can still recall that Erra Fazirra’s wedding was crowned the wedding of the year back in year 2003.

Recently I attended my sis’s future brother in-law wedding. Both me and my hubby were quite impressed with the unique entrance by the couple. Their relatives were united in purpose. They used traditional bamboos to carry the bride and groom and marched their way in for the grand entrance. The feeling was exactly like the king and queen of the day!! I should try this before..hahaha..:)

For a married couple like us, we always tend to compare other couple’s wedding with ours. Well, we will start to fantasize and how I wish….my wedding is like this…hehehe…J It’s normal to fantasize even though you are married. You still can dream on having the 25th anniversary..hehehe..:) Basically, what I am trying to say is that a marriage is not about the one off event, marriage lies with responsibility and commitment.

It is said that marriages are made in heaven and celebrated on earth. It is a special bond shared between two souls, who tie the wedding knot after promising to be companions for a lifetime. It is the physical, mental and spiritual union of two souls. It brings significant stability and substance to human relationships, which is otherwise incomplete. Well, that’s the theory of marriages, however nowadays most people marry to escape societal pressure; they marry for the name, not to appear odd among married peers. Some pressure also comes from parents who want to measure up to their peers.

Sometimes, marriages fail because people marry when they are madly in love, so they literally sign the marriage contracts when they are in a state of madness. Besides, many don’t take marriage as a life long commitment rather a life convenience, once convenience falter it’s adios baby.

Success in marriage does not come merely through finding the right mate, but through being the right mate. ~Barnett R. Brickner

Unleash your FEAR !

I have developed an extraordinary interest lately, totally beyond my expectation. For your info, I used to be a shy and quiet person and singing was my number one fear..why? coz my voice is quite limited. I was labeled as a soft spoken person with a husky voice..I can’t scream and raise up my voice..its all due to my past surgery failures.

Let me share with you an unforgettable incident that happened 10 years ago. To be frank, I lost my voice due to a surgery failure. I had an abnormal growth on my neck and suspected to be thyroid, I had undergone two surgeries with two different doctors. The first surgery was during my 2nd year in University, I still could recalled clearly, my condition was worst until, I have been exempted from presentation. For those who know me before my uni time, they will definitely asked me..:”joe, are you sick..why your voice like that..?”

Over the past 10 years, I have been receiving the same comments about my limited voice. I faced problem especially in delivering presentation and convincing others. Of course singing was a big challenge for me. But now, my limitation is not an issue anymore….:) Believe it or not, times had changed everything, for the past few months, I have managed to unleash my fear. My weekend and holidays were spent having great and fun moments in karaoke lounge. Haha..:) But still I am not a good singer…yet..hehe..:) Most importantly, what matters most now is I have unleashed my fear..fear of singing…J
