What God Say about GREED ??
Those who love money will never have enough. How absurd to think that wealth brings true happiness! The more you have, the more people come to help you spend it. So what is the advantage of wealth – except perhaps to watch it run through your fingers! Ecclesiastes 5:10-11 (NLT)
What is happening around the world?
Those who have, want more, and those who don't have, lose more.
All he ever wanted in life was more. He wanted more money, so he parlayed inherited wealth into a billion-dollar pile of assets. He wanted more fame, so he went to Hollywood and became a major filmmaker. He wanted more sensual pleasures, so he paid royal sums to indulge his every sexual urge. He wanted more thrills, so he designed, built and piloted the world's fastest and biggest airplanes. He wanted more power, so he secretly bought the favor of two United States presidents. All he ever wanted was more. He was convinced that more would bring him satisfaction. History shows otherwise. Howard Hughes ended his life as a miserable recluse, his arms punctured by needles from illicit drugs. He died a billionaire junkie betrayed by the myth of more.
Gone are the days when we used to help and look out for our neighbors. We are now starting to live by the dogma of a 'Me First' mind set.
Most know what Greed is, but what is the true definition as defined by Webster Dictionary? Greed is defined as excessive desire for getting or having esp wealth; desires for more than one needs.
Greed for attention, greed for loves, greed for success, greed for …you name it..
Greed will grow and the hearts of Mankind will become more wicked. We will start seeing more hearts turning towards the "Me First" mind set. The outcome will be suffering and sorrow for Mankind.
What God say about Greed :-
Greed is inordinate desire to acquire and possess
1. lust and envy - James 4:2
2. covetousness - Exod. 20:17; Rom. 7:7,8; I Cor. 5:11
3. selfish immoderation of desires - "Me-ism”
4. patterning of the "flesh"
There are 4 kinds of people in the world:
Those who believe we should share everything.
Those who believe that once their needs are met then the rest is to be shared.
Those that believe it is everyone's responsibility to get their own.
And those who want it all for themselves.
It is all in the way you look at the world ☺
We journey through life on a search for happiness and satisfaction. Sometimes we find it and sometimes we don't..
