Wanna Be :)

I aways remind myself..there are 3 type of person in this world..Which type are you??A person who make things happen; or person who watch things happen; or person who wonder what happened??

Off course, i wanna be a person who make things happen.. Why?? I love to make people happy, i love to create surprises and make things happen. I am a “doer" and “giver"..:) This doesn’t mean that i don’t feel fear..fear of failures. It’s true that sometimes we feel tired of being the doer and feel like sitting back and give way to others..:) When you are tired, just sit back and relax and watch things happen..hehe..:)

This is where the majority of our population resides. It's easier to watch the "doers' get things done than put ourselves out there and risk failing, being scrutinized, having people point out our misfortunes. These people are just one small step from living their greatness. If only they could dare to dream again and move past their fear.

Those who don't know what the heck happened....Yes, believes it or not, the result of living as one who just watches things happen, ends up wondering what the heck happened. At the end of your life (which you can't predict), what will you be thinking about? Regrets, regrets and more regrets. What didn't you dare to do? What opportunities did you pass up because of your fear? What life didn't you live?

It’s your choice!!! You can choose to be the type of person you want to be. It's that simple. I didn't say easy - just simple. It will take work but think about the rewards. Choose to take that first step towards your dream. You'll be amazed at how much easier it becomes - step by step by step by step. You're creating a new habit that will replace the old habit of watching things happen from the sidelines. Before you know it you're living your dream and working on the next one. Now doesn't that sound like a happier way to live?! You are now the person you wanted to be.

Cheers!!!

My Sandakan Trip..:)

I have been to Sandakan many times, but never visited the interesting places. Well, it was a business trip and rarely had the chance to go around. This time around, i grab the opportunity to extend my days in Sandakan. Surprisingly, my hubby was convince with my persuasion and came along with me.
At first, i thought we came at the wrong time..Why?? it was election period..all the politicians flew over to supports their candidate. Off course all the hotels were fully booked including the unstar hotels..luckily my friend managed to book one..:)

My journey only started when the clock turned 5pm..i was no longer an employees...i was a traveler..yeah!!! The moment i reached our hotel, took my bath and went off..our 1st destination was Kg Buli Sim-Sim..we were so excited to try the famous and cheap seafood. we took a Mini Bus to the town, the 30 minutes journey was fun. I guess the last time i traveled by mini bus was during my Uni time. when we reached the town, we took another taxi to Kg Buli Sim Sim..it only cost us RM6 and only took us 10 minutes for the ride.

Kg Buli Sim-Sim was kind of a sea village. It is similar to our Kg Air in KK. The most famous seafood restaurant was at bridge H/Lorong 8 and were dominated by Chinese. You need to pass by many houses before you reach the restaurant. I even saw some of them playing mahjong...woow so enjoyed!!

Ok, let me tell you the best part was eating time. The captain was friendly and recommended us to try their famous sotong kicap and cheese prawn, OK we buy-in all
their recommendation. Well, we were really satisfied with the freshness of the seafood. I love the cheese prawn...so fresh and delicious and the prawn was so big.
It only cost us RM15 for the cheese prawn. We had ordered 5 dishes and the total bill was only 65.00.. really cheap huh?.

Marriage vs Wedding..

I have attended 5 wedding receptions over the past 2 months. Wow!! Everyone is getting married in August and September. I guess it is because of the superstitious months of 8 and 9. In Chinese 8 symbolizes prosperity and 9 signifies forever and ever. For Chinese this is the best month to tie the knot. However, the month of august this year coincides with the month of ghost and certainly, many typical Chinese will try to avoid august.

So, what do you think about marriage? Is it a once in a lifetime event? Not really because some couple break up and remarry again and again. Every girl dreamt to have a perfect & grand wedding, however, the cost of wedding is getting higher. Fifteen years ago, the cost of a normal wedding is around 15k but now it’s 5 times higher. It’s very expensive to get marry now days! Everyone is trying to impress everybody. Every couple is trying to create the most memorable wedding from the church wedding to the dinner banquet. Everyone is trying to be creative. I can still recall that Erra Fazirra’s wedding was crowned the wedding of the year back in year 2003.

Recently I attended my sis’s future brother in-law wedding. Both me and my hubby were quite impressed with the unique entrance by the couple. Their relatives were united in purpose. They used traditional bamboos to carry the bride and groom and marched their way in for the grand entrance. The feeling was exactly like the king and queen of the day!! I should try this before..hahaha..:)

For a married couple like us, we always tend to compare other couple’s wedding with ours. Well, we will start to fantasize and how I wish….my wedding is like this…hehehe…J It’s normal to fantasize even though you are married. You still can dream on having the 25th anniversary..hehehe..:) Basically, what I am trying to say is that a marriage is not about the one off event, marriage lies with responsibility and commitment.

It is said that marriages are made in heaven and celebrated on earth. It is a special bond shared between two souls, who tie the wedding knot after promising to be companions for a lifetime. It is the physical, mental and spiritual union of two souls. It brings significant stability and substance to human relationships, which is otherwise incomplete. Well, that’s the theory of marriages, however nowadays most people marry to escape societal pressure; they marry for the name, not to appear odd among married peers. Some pressure also comes from parents who want to measure up to their peers.

Sometimes, marriages fail because people marry when they are madly in love, so they literally sign the marriage contracts when they are in a state of madness. Besides, many don’t take marriage as a life long commitment rather a life convenience, once convenience falter it’s adios baby.

Success in marriage does not come merely through finding the right mate, but through being the right mate. ~Barnett R. Brickner

Unleash your FEAR !

I have developed an extraordinary interest lately, totally beyond my expectation. For your info, I used to be a shy and quiet person and singing was my number one fear..why? coz my voice is quite limited. I was labeled as a soft spoken person with a husky voice..I can’t scream and raise up my voice..its all due to my past surgery failures.

Let me share with you an unforgettable incident that happened 10 years ago. To be frank, I lost my voice due to a surgery failure. I had an abnormal growth on my neck and suspected to be thyroid, I had undergone two surgeries with two different doctors. The first surgery was during my 2nd year in University, I still could recalled clearly, my condition was worst until, I have been exempted from presentation. For those who know me before my uni time, they will definitely asked me..:”joe, are you sick..why your voice like that..?”

Over the past 10 years, I have been receiving the same comments about my limited voice. I faced problem especially in delivering presentation and convincing others. Of course singing was a big challenge for me. But now, my limitation is not an issue anymore….:) Believe it or not, times had changed everything, for the past few months, I have managed to unleash my fear. My weekend and holidays were spent having great and fun moments in karaoke lounge. Haha..:) But still I am not a good singer…yet..hehe..:) Most importantly, what matters most now is I have unleashed my fear..fear of singing…J

Appreciate the moments…..:)

There is only one moment to appreciate in life and that is the present moment.

Often in our life, we focus our awareness into our regretful past and uncertain future. We know that the future is a dream not yet alive and the past is memory without a pulse. But, why are our minds often somewhere else? How can we stay fully present when we want to? Do you know that being fully present can make our experiences more positive and memorable?

Sometimes, we even try to divide our attention, to do 2-3 things in the same time, however when we divide our attention we cheapen our experience of life. And sometimes we're not even aware we're doing it. As for me, it’s a norm to do 2-3 tasks in one shot, talking to the phone while replying an urgent email and sometimes I have offended the person I’m talking to because I’m not focused.

When walking outdoor, we often focus on the near and familiar, and never notice the distant beauty of a hawk wheeling right above us. In our daily life, we always dramatize our problem without appreciating what we have in present. We often blame God for all the problems happened in our life but seldom appreciated every breath that we inhale is given by our almighty God. And these are relatively harmless examples. Sometimes it hurts much more.

Whatever the moment, you're in it. Appreciating the moment begins with appreciating yourself. And appreciating yourself begins with your own breathing.

When You Almost Reach The finish Lines…

I have been struggling very hard for the past few years just to make sure that I will reach the finish lines. However, when I almost reach there, something bad struck me..things did not happen as I have planned. Can you imagine how sad and frustrated I was? That’s life huh?? Expect the worst!!

Well, I always say to myself that it’s not the end of the world, there is always a flickering light at the end of the tunnel, the only question is how far is the end of the tunnel ? This is the quote that I love most, it’s a copy and paste quote that I learned from my hubby, I was impressed with this quote may be this is the reason why I’m stuck with him now..hehe..:)

Sometimes, I am wondering why these things happened to me? Why people treat me badly? Have I done something wrong that I deserved to face all these? or May be God is testing my patience. God I never treat other people bad. I tried to be nice to other people as what God has taught me but why me Lord??

As human, we always asked God Why me? Why me? Why I’m the chosen one ? I’m trying to be positive but sometimes, the pain is unbearable. Have you ever felt that your chest hurt and your couldn’t hear your heart beating. That’s how I felt lately, crazy huh?

Despite all the difficulties that I faced, I should be grateful that I am surrounded with my loved ones especially my hubby. My husband has been a supportive listener and I really thanked him for being there for me. Well, after all I still need to pick myself up, dust myself off and Start all over again.

September:)

Time flies..we are in the 3rd quarter of the year. It's September!! I luv September because September is my luckiest month..hehe...:) Why ?? i got my annual bonus payout in Sept and i am celebrating my wedding anniversary in September...everything turn out to be perfect in september..:)(Finger cross)

However, as a Roman Catholic believer, God said that everyday is a good day and we are not supposed to deny this because it is stated in the book of Genesis, God begins his six day work-week and created the world and everything in it including mankind. The one thing that every day had in common was the fact that after God had finished his work beginning with day one and ending with day six, He said, And it was good.” God set a precedent that “Every day is a good day.” On the 7th day God rested, and that was good also.

A lot of people including myself go around and saying all the time, “I had a bad day!”, "blue monday" Through experiences i'm beginning to see the world from the other side of the coin and I’m learning more and more to exclaim, “Every day is good.” Even in pain, I’m learning that today is still a good day because I believe today that my pain or suffering will be less tomorrow. During the past few months, i have been through a life turbulence .. especially in my career path and academic life. Life is not always a bed of roses ! Sometimes, it becomes difficult to analyze whether all that happened to me was fair or not. Did I deserve all that I got? Who said life was going to be fair? One of the mistakes many of us make is that we feel sorry for ourselves, or for others, thinking that life should be fair, or someday it will be. It's not and it won't. Surrendering to this fact also keeps us from feeling sorry for others. It reminded me that everyone is dealt with differently, everyone has unique strengths and challenges.

Remember, “In the Lord, every day is a good day!”

Traveling...My passion..:)

I am a travel Addict and traveling is my passion. If i can recall, i have started my traveling adventure since the day I have been posted to KL for almost 3 years. During the 3 years period, I have conquered the whole of peninsular Malaysia. Actually, traveling is not just a luxury or a leap of leisure but an important element in my life and well being. It is an essential life experience. Over the past 10 years, i have gained lots of memorable experiences and indeed i've done a lot of silly mistakes along the way..hehe.:) My first international trip was my honeymoon adventure in Perth, Australia. I got a cheap fare during the MATTA fair, it only costed me RM800 for a return trip. It was cheap and reasonable then. Oh ya, i'm good in getting cheap fare, i am a loyal Air Asia and MAS fan, well..my addiction to traveling has piled up my credit cards bill..oopss!!

This year.. 2010 is the most challenging and exciting year for me in terms of traveling and adventure..however, in terms of academic and career i'm at the lowest point i guess. What matter most was my dreams came true!! i had dreamt of visiting Europe since a long time ago..finally the day came when i saw the Enrich member promotion, what!! 32,000 redemption points for Europe..In a span of 1 week, we finally decided to go for it..just go!! It all began with our burning desires..even though we only had less than a month period to prepare for the trip..crazy huh? During the 4 weeks period, me and my friends had been working very hard to do some research on the trip..my task was to purchase flight tickets within Europe "online". Believe it or not, i got the cheapest flight fares! it only costed us less than RM500 to travel around Europe..from Paris to Milan, Milan to Rome and Rome to London! Perfect!! On the other hand, my friend Linda was monitoring the weather...she was my weather gal..hehe..:) At that moment, Europe was hit by poor weather but thank God during our visit it turned out to be sunny all the way...how magnificent and Great God is.:)

Continue with my life journey...

Friendship is a blessing

Friendship is a blessing !! Thank God that i have been blessed with many good friends. From my childhood friends till present moment, good friends come and go..only those special friends leave a footprint in my heart..;)

Recently, i have been reconnected with my long lost friends, thanks to FB. Someone who cheer me up when im emotionally dehydrated and demotivated. Do you know that how important friends are ?? Friends are the channel through whom you get the emotional, spiritual and physical blessing flow. When our life seem to falls apart, they will be there to supports you.

We often just want them around, to have a good time, to laugh, to act silly, to enjoy some mutually liked activity i.e window shopping, yam char session, massage session..hehe..:). Friends can made us feel loved, accepted, respected and cared for? Probably, too many to list, and the list grows daily.

Therefore, friends should be treasured for true friends are few and far between. So, when you find that special friend, you should hold on tight. Show appreciation, say thank you, send a card or give a hug:)

Life is a journey not a destination..
We are all travelers. We all follow paths. Our journey of life may not be the same but the way we get there is..
Everyone has their own journey, yet we all experience the same emotions and struggles that are synonymous with life. Our journey will begin with our birth and end with the finality of our existence.

Life is a remarkable journey that takes us up and down a road of happiness, growth, personal interaction, love, fear and sometimes pain and hardship.

Life is a journey, enjoy the ride !

Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what`s to be,
A resting place along the road,
to sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
but never meant to stay...

Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know.
For some the journey`s quicker,
For some the journey`s slow.
And when the journey finally ends,
We`ll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with the lord.

Life is a journey...

Life is a journey...
